Hembree & Callaham

It's an incredible surprise! The Women in Business Luncheon in McCormick awarded Dr. Jaime Hembree, superintendent of McCormick Schools, and Catherine Callaham, Director of Volunteers.  Both awards are given to women who show exemplary work in their community.

Dr. Jaime Hembree was awarded the Women in Business Award Of Excellence award.  The Crystal Diamond Award is given by nomination to a woman in business who is a leader in advocating and advancing McCormick County business and economic growth and quality of life. In partnership with McCormick County, this person is an exemplary financial and resource development advocate for scenic land and water resources that ultimately stimulate public and private investment and tourism. Candidates include business owners, community leaders, and educators. Award winners are considered positive role models who encourage and assist new business start-ups and, most importantly, encourage citizens and businesses to support innovation and reach their full potential.

Mrs. Catherine Callaham received the Shining Example Award. Mrs. Callaham is a shining example with over 50 years of experience in the district. The Shining Example Award is a McCormick County Chamber Award spotlighting women who exemplify the County's "Best and Brightest." The recipient is selected by city, county, and chamber representatives to recognize individuals who best express passion and caring across diverse interest groups.

Among the key qualities of the recipient are dedication, drive, and positive motivation to promote the county's vision, tourism, and education and foster cooperation by sharing resources. Outstanding contributions can be in business professionalism, community service, arts and culture, education, tourism, or general contributions to improve McCormick County quality of life.
