Our school is focused on developing life skills around the profile of the SC Graduate. When students graduate they should be ready with skills to help them in either a career or college of their choice. Our Guidance Counselor, Libby Hutcheson, is doing a fantastic job of teaching students about these life skills. Each month, she has a character trait that is read out to students during announcements. She also provides guidance lessons in the classroom around these traits. The trait for August was " Responsibility." Responsibility is doing what you are supposed to do. Responsible people think about how their actions may affect other people, and they accept the consequences of their choices. They do not blame others for their mistakes. Responsible people work hard and do their best. Students are chosen for the Student of the Month Character Award by their peers, faculty, and staff members. The month of August Winner pictured: Kindergarten: Geovana Phillips and Kholbi Evans; 1st grade: Kingston Jackson and Skylar Leverette; 2nd grade: Autumn Tatum, Heaven Tucker, and Vincent Harrison; 3rd grade: Kinsleigh Middleton and Journee Pratt; 4th and 5th grade: Brayden Callaham, Landon Chamberlain, Noah Chamberlain, Dedra Williams, Kaicy Cater, and Limayah Wideman.
