Good afternoon!
We have had an amazing week at MES! Our 3rd-5th grade students worked hard on SC Ready testing this week! SC Ready Math testing will be on Tuesday, May 14. Be sure your child gets a good night's sleep, arrives on time, and hears positive messages from you in preparation for testing. Our 4th-grade students will have SC PASS Science Testing on May 15.
Field Day is on May 16. A flyer was sent home asking parents for donations of chips, Little Debbie Cakes, juice pouches, and bottled water. Field Day is a fun event but it is a privilege. If your child receives a minor or a major write-up this coming week, they could lose their privilege of attending field day including their pre-paid slushies. There will not be a refund if this happens. Also, a letter was sent home regarding all upcoming events and dismissal. If you plan to dismiss your child early on those days of events, please fill out the form to help make that process quicker. Parents are welcome to attend field day, but you need to remain outside with the classes. We do have a clear bag policy for all of our events.
Thank you to all the parents and students who showed teachers and staff appreciation this week! They were beaming with happy tears from the special message and gifts you all gave them. The "Parent Locker Room" is always open on the MCSD App where you can give shout-outs to any staff member. These are being displayed on our digital boards in our hallways.
Don't forget to get your tickets from the office for our wonderful school play " School House Rock!" Our students have worked so hard and we can't wait for this show!
