Third and Fourth-grade students recently attended Education Day at the Clemson Women's Basketball game. Pregame activities included hands-on activities and experiments for the students in the lobby area with booths set up for them to rotate. At half-time, they had a photosynthesis relay game in which they asked students and teachers to participate. The crowd would yell out the correct answers. They also had trivia they put up on the big screen and the kids could guesstimate the correct answer. I think the biggest takeaway was the exposure to a college campus of that size and gave them a taste of being in a place that is a possibility of post-high school. Even in Elementary School, we are focused on the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Experiences such as these, prepare students for the future.
