The 1A State Track & Field meet will take place on Thursday (5-16-24) at Spring Valley High School starting at 5 pm. We have several student-athletes representing MHS and we wish all the them the best of luck! Go Chief!!

Congratulations to Zariah Hill and Asha Curry for being chosen to represent McCormick High Schoolat the State House for SC STEM Signing Day!
STEM Signing Day celebrates high school seniors from across the country who choose to pursue STEM education at technical programs, two- and four-year colleges and universities. Just like signing days for athletes, STEM Signing Day honorees sign a letter of intent to pursue their STEM goals.
A panel of young engineers told the students how they got to where they are (Boeing, BMW, Michelin, Nucor) and encouraged them to network and not be afraid of change.
Along with other students from across the state, Zariah and Asha were recognized by the House and the Senate and took a group picture with the governor.

The track and field team with travel to Lower Richland High School on Saturday (5-11-24) and compete in the Upperstate Championship. Field events are scheduled to start at 11 am. The address is 2615 Lower Richland Blvd., Hopkins, SC 29061.

Congratulations to Sydney McNally for winning the Military Officers Association of America JROTC Award for having demonstrated outstanding citizenship, personal responsibility, and service to their community and country as a member of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.

Athletic physicals will be given after school on Monday, May 13 for $25 (cash only). You may pick up a physical form from your coach or the athletic department.

The region track meet has been moved to Thursday, May 2nd and will take place at McCormick High School. The start time is 4 pm and the cost of entry will be $5.00 (cash only).

The athletic banquet will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 6 pm in the MMS gym. The athletic department will presale tickets for $10 starting on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Tickets can be purchased from Coach Hughes and Coach Pratt during lunch. A limited amount of tickets will be sold.

MHS is extremely excited and celebrates our students who will be graduating from Piedmont Technical College OR Abbeville County Career Center. These graduations will take place as follows:
Piedmont Technical College ~ May 2, 2024 @ 11:00am Greenwood Campus. This is by ticket only.
Abbeville County Career Center on Thursday, May 23, 2024 @ 6:00pm. Location: TBA. This is by ticket only.
Tickets are required for both these events. McCormick High does not issue tickets.
With this being said, because Abbeville County Career Center’s graduation on Thursday, May 23, 2024, the MHS Senior Awards Night has been changed to Friday, May 24, 2024 @ 6:00pm. Location: Middle School Gymnasium.
