Mrs. Pamela Turman is overjoyed to serve as the Chief Academic Officer for McCormick County School District. As a 1997 graduate of McCormick High School, she is the proud daughter of William and Marion Hill of Plum Branch, SC. Mrs. Turman has been married to Robert Turman for 15 years and they have two sons, Tyler and Tyrel. She is an active member at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Parksville, SC.

Mrs. Turman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lander University, Master’s Degree in General Education from Southern Wesleyan University and an Education Specialist Degree in Leadership and Administration from Clemson University. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Early Childhood and has taught Kindergarten and First Grade during her earlier career.

While ending her second decade in education, she continues to be hopeful of the vast opportunities given to students that she was not offered in the past. In her role, she works with children from birth in the child care center to graduation as she administers state testing for graduation requirements. Mrs. Turman works hard to fulfill the district mission to provide a quality education for every child, beginning at birth. She says, “It is an honor and a privilege to see how much students grow. McCormick County School District is doing great things and I am excited to be a part of history in the making.”
